Open House

Open House at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf on January 30, 2013

Today's young people cannot think about their "dream" profession early enough or combining it with excellent training reflecting the most advanced developments. In order to help university graduates of the future gain insight on the many different academic opportunities offered by the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf, the university is opening its doors to welcome visitors on from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on January 30, 2013. Anybody is welcome to come to the Open House.

At our "Nord" site on Josef-Gockeln-Strasse 9 in Düsseldorf-Golzheim, the departments of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering, Architecture, and Design and Media welcome you to visit its lab facilities, attend lectures on specialist topics, talk to an academic advisor, as well as meet and talk to faculty members and representatives of companies from the region. In addition, those coming to our Open House can also learn more about the various courses of study, admission requirements, and possible degrees from the Central Student Services staff of the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf (FH D) who will also be attending.

High school students who are interested in pursuing a career and gaining qualification in the business sector or social professions can attend the Open House on the same day at our Süd location on Universitätsstrasse on the campus of the Heinrich-Heine University where they can learn more about the Economics, Cultural Studies and Social Sciences majors, admission requirements, and curriculum offered. At this site too the departments will be offering an equally informative and attractive Open House program.

Shuttle buses make it easy to go back and forth between the two campuses.
The program for the Open House will be published here shortly.

Asuro Robots

Part of the Electrical Engineering academic program is to complete a development task in the field of microtechnology during the fifth term. The objective of this task is to work on and solve a technological challenge.

Matthias Ihln and Benjamin Schellscheidt developed an Asuro robot equipped with two pyrosensors which are also found in motion detectors. This makes it possible for the robot to detect a heat source in a given space and follow it at a predefined distance.
The result of the project is a fully functional robot prototype.
